If you don't fancy being a caddy then there are other jobs you could do to help over the weekend. To enable us to arrange a rota I would ask that you contact me on 01828 633000 or 01828 633395 and let me know your availability.

Thanks

Intermediate Coaching - Noah's Ark

There is one thing to be said about P&K Junior Girls, they are hardy.
These 6 girls braved the perrishing north-east winds on Sunday 9th April at Noah's Ark and kept smiling throughout the 2 hours.

Here they are, from the left Emily Harrison, Megan Aird, Caitlin Bartrop, Shona Dunbar, Ailie Burnett and Lauren Marchbank.

Neil had the girls working very hard on the long game and they are all hitting the ball much further than last season, so we can expect those handicaps to be in the teens very soon!

They finished with some pitching, adjusting the swing length for the distance required to the pin.

Below are these girls in action:

Ailie and Caitlin

Emily and Lauren

Shona and Megan

Well done all of you see you on Sunday 7th May, hope spring has come by then!

The first session of coaching for our pre-handicap girls was held at Strathmore on Saturday 18th March.

All are hitting the ball very well and should be able to return three cards for handicaps in the coming season.

Elite Girls Coaching

Sunday 5th March saw the second session of coaching for our elite girls at Gleneagles.
As you see Perthshire displayed one of her most beautiful aspects!
David and John chatted with the girls about their practice routines and the importance of visualization of each shot, both during practice and on the course.
On the range all the girls are hitting with much improved consistency so we expect handicaps to come tumbling down as soon as the season begins.

Below are some of the swings that escaped capture last time!

Gleneagles 29/01/06

Our elite group of girls had their first coaching session at Gleneagles on Sunday 29th January.

The girls are pictured above, back row:

Eve Muirhead, Karen Dunbar, Janet Griffiths ( County Captain ), Dawn Butchart ( Vice Captain )

front row:

Laura Campbell, Lucy Gilmour, Jacqueline Sneddon, Annabel Niven, Fiona Allan.

Captain Janet welcomed the girls, wishing them an enjoyable and successful season, she encouraged them to enter as many as possible of the SLGA and LGU Junior Fixtures. She also hoped that they will take part in the county meetings, especially the championship.

Stewart and David, the two Gleneagles professionals, then took over and found out a little about the aims and targets the girls have set for themselves. Moving on to the range they did some work on short irons this enabled the professionals to get an idea of the girls strengths and weaknesses. They finished off with some pitching work.

Hopefully the girls have found the session useful, we can see how well some of them are swinging from the pictures below!

CARLY OFF TO HONG KONG

13 year old Carly Booth (Comrie) is the only Scottish member in the squad of 10 teenagers from Great Britain & Ireland invited to take part in the Nick Faldo International Series Trophy tournament in Hong Kong. This will be the second time Carly has made the trip to Hong Kong. The tournament is over 36 holes on Wednesday and Thursday. Winning players will play against Nick Faldo in a "champions' shoot-out" on the Friday. This is a fantastic opportunity for Carly to compete with her international contemporates and to attend off-course activities including seminars with Nick Faldo plus fitness and rules workshops.

We wish Carly well and hope she has a fantastic trip.
